Founded in the 1970’s, Fred Leighton specializes in the finest estate and antique jewelry from the great design periods of the 19th and the 20th centuries. Along with vintage pieces, Fred Leighton is renowned for its signature creations, which combine the aura of the past with the best materials and craftsmanship available worldwide today. Spectacular gems, ranging from one of a kind Kashmir sapphire to rose cut diamonds radiate brilliantly throughout the Fred Leighton collection.
The first Fred Leighton boutique was opened in Greenwich Village, New York City in the late 1970’s and sold unique crafts and ethnic jewels from around the world. By 1984, when Fred Leighton had moved into its flagship store on Madison Avenue, the jewel counters showcased the precious antique and estate jewels that would distinguish Fred Leighton’s collection. Fourteen years later, Fred Leighton further expanded its retail presence to include a second freestanding store at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas. In 2002, a full-scale renovation of the New York flagship store was completed by architect Adam Tihany, doubling the size of salon with inspiration by the 1930’s Art Deco collections which the brand is renowned for.
